This notice explains how Karhun Kala ja Kortteeri Oy (hereafter Iisland) processes personal data on the iisland.fi website.

What we process

• Bookings: name, email address, phone number, dates of stay, number of guests, chosen extras, notes, and the amount and reference of the payment. Card details are handled only by the payment provider Stripe.
• Enquiries: the name, email address, phone number, number of guests and message given in the enquiry form.

Purpose and legal basis

• Handling the booking and payment: contract.
• Bookkeeping: legal obligation.
• Answering an enquiry: steps taken before entering into a contract.
• Site security, protecting the forms from spam and visitor statistics for improving the site: legitimate interest.

Service providers

Your data is not sold or used for marketing. Bookings, payments, email, visitor statistics and the running of the website are handled by service providers that process data on Iisland’s behalf. Some of them may process data outside the EU and EEA. Such transfers rely on mechanisms approved by the European Commission.

Retention

Booking data is kept for the period Finnish bookkeeping law requires: six years from the end of the year in which the financial year ended. Enquiries are deleted once they are no longer needed.

Cookies

Iisland uses no tracking or marketing cookies. The map on the cottage pages comes from Google Maps, and when it loads, Google may store its own cookies in your browser.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to have it transferred. Send requests to info@iisland.fi. You may also lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
